I've now reached an agreement with a qualified translator to translate the book into Spanish.
In fact, we've known each other for quite a few years and although he's Argentine, his grandfather was British and he speaks and writes English like a native. When you speak to him, you wouldn't even think he was Argentine. It's also true to say that he was originally my first choice for those very reasons, as understanding the nuances of a language is vital and we already have first drafts of chapters one and two translated and ready for editing.
I'm really looking forward to presenting the book to Argentina and other Spanish speakers, which was always my intention. Hopefully it will get noticed by the local press as well. In fact, that will be my first call.
Progress reports to follow...
Scratch that because we are no longer working together. Moving on...
I finally reached an agreement with another translator recommended to me by none other than Adri and I've just read the first ten chapters that she sent me.
To say they are outstanding would be an understatement because she has managed to capture the essence of my writing style and all the various nuances, and put it into Spanish.
I'm very, very pleased with what she has done so far and I recognise it as my book, not some literal, wooden translation that it could so easily have become.
Excellent news! When do you expect the translation to be complete?

September sometime, barring any last minute problems.
I'll be publishing on Amazon and Draft2Digital like before, so it will be available in paperback and eBook.
I may well change the book cover as well, to give it more impact for the local market.

Well that was optimistic!
39 chapters out of 55 translated so far and she's doing a superb job, so it will be ready when it's ready.
I'll will definitely be changing the book cover and I have an interesting idea already.
It will be worth the wait!
Did I mention that it's now available on Google Play Books?
That’s terrific !
It’s definitely an eye-catcher! Stunning cover.
I hope you sell millions!
Dare I say it, I prefer this cover.

Me too! I hired a professional this time.
Extremely interesting. I wish I’d been able to read this before reading the book, for deeper insight into the characters.
Here's a fascinating history of the British Rio de la Plata invasions in 1806/07.

The Spanish version is now on Mercadolibre.
Excellent! And so glad the Book Fair went well.
We sold seven books at the fair:
Three to a lady and her two sisters which was prearranged.
One to another lady which was prearranged.
One to another author who was signing her book at the next table.
One to a young lady who looked at the book, we talked about it, she walked away and then came back to buy it.
One to a man who bough it without hesitation or much talk from me.
Conclusion - we would have sold a shedload if we had been there all day and Tinta Libre sold out all their stock of my book, which was good news!
