Great to know!! Can't wait to read it.

Can you share some facts of your book? How many words/pages has it? How many versions have you written? What were the hardest bits to sort out in your story? And was it hard to keep up with the task over the years?

    serafina

    It's quite a long book at 123,000 words and about 405 pages in a 6" x 9" book size. On Kindle it's 305 pages.

It will be available as paperback and eBook (Kindle), which were converted automatically when I uploaded the manuscript.

Time-line is quite hard to get right if the story takes place over several years. In my case, the story spans decades and sometimes goes back to the 19th century, albeit briefly.

It's also important to observe the rules of the times and to be careful not to introduce a character in the 90s who starts to swipe an iPhone screen, for example.

It took three years to actually write, but the idea gestated for at least two years before that. Having said that, there were many times when I simply put the book in a drawer for several months and went back to it later. By doing that, the mind is refreshed and the work can be seen in a completely different light.

Without giving the plot away, a tricky part was re-writing the book from a fictitious country to an actual one. In the end, I'm glad I did that, but it may ruffle a few feathers.

The book cover was a saga unto itself, the details of which I won't bore you with. Suffice to say that I had to design it myself in the end and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I have noticed that on the book cover you use one full stop only (They took his country. Now he wants it back), while on the book's website you used two (They took his country. Now he wants it back.).

    Well spotted serafina

    I shall remedy that.

Intriguing, uncanny cover: In the background appears the Argentine Flag. But the letters have British flag colours

I am eager to read it.

Splinter, do you think you will send a copy to the British Ambassador, Mr. Mark Kent?

The location of the statue is key to the plot of the entire story, Carlos.

I'd rather he bought a copy, so maybe I could give him a nudge?

Full disclosure: I had an advance reader’s copy, and am happy to say that this is a very captivating book.

Are you going to sell it on iTunes, too? Just asking because I have a balance left, though it is only for the Italian store (a friend bought me a gift card for my birthday, and it works only in the country it was purchased).

Good question and I'm looking into this right now serafina

Not quite as simple as it sounds though, so I'll get back to you.

Yes, I had looked into publishing an app on iTunes and it sounded all very complicated -- basically the iTunes US store is separate from the European ones. I gave up very quickly.

This is me when I read up at iTunes.

Now I'm looking at Smashwords and Draft2Digital who distribute to everyone else such as:

iBooks Barnes & Noble Kobo etc

Getting onto Goodreads as an author is more complicated than it should be. I've been on it for some time and like it, but not as an author.

    EDIT

I've sent the necessary informastion to Goodreads to 'claim' my work, but it turns out that there are several authors with the same name as me lol.

    Indeed, I should.

Anyway, I've updated the author page so that both books are showing under my name. My first book was being attributed to another author of the same name, but the admin at Goodreads corrected that for me.

In fact, they were very helpful indeed.
