How Stonehenge was built

  • Stonehenge, in my point of view, was the first monument to celebrate the seasons, the changes of position that the sun does when it appears in the horizon, and told the Neolithic men when to put the seeds and when to crop. Also marks the sense of "place".

    For further information, Christian Norberg Schulz "Genius loci" is an excellent study on how we create places. Heidegger had also wrote a lot about that in "Building, dwelling, thinking" of 1951.
