We're having elections today and tomorrow in Italy. Candidates remind me of history books on WWI and II.
Now THAT’S scary. In what way?

Don’t leave out the USA. Our government is also a complete dumpster fire.
I agree!!!

Racist outings on people of non-white ethnicities, to put it mildly.

Dreadful! The reawakening of racism all over the world - and I do mean ALL over - is appalling.
Many are predicting a return to Peronism like swings and roundabouts.
What do you all think?
Macri was the first non-Peronist president in almost a century. The Peronism crippled the country.
I have not enough knowledge to be able to fully analyze his government, but at least it didn't make me laugh like the previous one, which to me looked like a teenage party.
I wish there were more 'outsiders' like us laughing to the face of Peronists as many Argentinian aren't able to appreciate the ridiculousness of their doings and behaviors.
Fortunately in 2015, enough Argentines were fed up with the peronists that the voted Macri in. But having given the K’s 12 years to pillage the country, will they give up on Macri’s ability to right the ship after only 4 years?
This election may be a measure of patience vs desperation.
Alfonsin (UCR) wasn't Peronist, but a radical and he was president from 1983 to 1989.

As a Scot with no vote I really couldn't give two hoots to be honest.
Harsh but true.
Would you give two hoots if Macri had even a slight chance of controlling inflation? That affects everyone -

Given that UK Man likes to look after his Bawbees ( Rice , look it up !!) I am sure he would.
I just cant understand why the bloody economists here don't get together and design a plan to control inflation.
If the rest of the continent ( with the exception of the Maduro Mafia ) can do it why cant the Argentines?

I was being a tad facetious Rice. For the sake of the country Macri has to return. If he doesn't then I'm not going to let it bother me as there's no point. Anyway... I've given up hope of anything being normal here because it doesn't seem to be what the people want.
The wife looks after the bawbees in this house John. I have to ask her for pocket money.
I know you were being facetious, UK Man.
Got to be living here otherwise you'd go mad. Or maybe being mad helps?
I have to say she's not bad looking from the feet up to just below the neck...it all goes rapidly downhill after that.
(I'm not a chauvinist pig in real life.)
... it’s just that she brings out the beast in you.
Good article.
Pity Argentina isn't located in Europe instead of the middle of nowhere.
Neilson’s thoughts are characteristically insightful and on target. Is it possible for Macri to read and consider them, then lay out a 1,2,3 plan to bring differing factions together?
