This is one of the first things I sort out when I install Windows 10 because I don't like the new photo viewer at all.
The old Windows Photo Viewer is easy to use, it has some very handy options on the menu, you can magnify easily and you can quickly email an image to someone.
Richard Pedersen has written a very handy guide to use this program as default.
