Trump 3rd March 2019
Quote
"Unfortunately, you put the wrong people in a couple of positions and they leave people for a long time that shouldn't be there and all of a sudden they are trying to take you out with bullshit, okay?" the president said. -

Eloquent.

The Orange Utan meets Tim Apple.

Another cringe-producing episode in the rolling embarrassment we live with every day.
Tim Cook’s response was to add an apple emoji to his twitter name.

No examples of a coup d’etat that I can dredge up, though one would certainly be welcome right about NOW.
The Vote of No Confidence sadly doesn’t exist either. Not that any of the scaredy-cats in the US Senate would have the nerve to try. They are afraid to even speak their own opinions, lest the Bully-in-Chief tweet ill of them.
No coup yet. But lee Harvey Oswald is being exhumed.

In a stunning example of leading from behind, yesterday the US president grounded all Boeing 737 Max aircraft, a week after the rest of the world except for the only other holdout, Canada, which saw the light earlier this week.
Why did it take the world’s former premier aviation safety advocate, the USA, so long to join the other countries?
Perhaps the question should be put to the US president, to whom Boeing gave $1 million USD during his campaign for the presidency, and to whom Boeing’s CEO made a call last Monday.

Apparently new information became available that pointed it there was a direct similarity between the two accidents.
As soon as the info became available Canada cancelled all flights .
Boeing were holding out but Trump ( we have to give him credit here....) forced their hand by announcing a FAA ban.

Let me try and find a great article from an aviation geek that will explain everything....

this is a bit technical but its easy to understand....

That is a good, and simplified article, GlasgowJohn.

Why does he deserve credit for continuing to drag his feet until public opinion finallyforced him to follow the lead of the rest of the world?
Why should Boeing’s opinion have made any difference? The issue at hand should have been passenger safety, not the price of Boeing stock.

Depressing story from Vox suggests the Boeing has more than a software problem on the 737 Max. (Hint: And it isn’t a branding problem.)

Yeah. Welcome to the New Normal: ethics, out; profits (only) in.

Another excellent and concise report from John Sopel at the BBC.
Mueller report: A president saved from himself

That IS a good article, Splinter . For those interested in reading the full report, Reuters posted it yesterday.

If you have any interest in US politics and current skullduggery, parts of this read like a suspense novel.

Chump in Chief worries more about his Twitter followers than the world at large.

LChump in Chief worries more about his Twitter followers than the world at large.
This is consistent with his worrying more about his bald spot in the rain than the fallen heroes in Normandy. And, for that matter, consistent with his worrying more about his ratings than about the country he was (s)elected to run.

Joe Biden has announced his candidacy for president in the 2020 elections and opened with this:
"I believe history will look back on four years of this president and all he embraces as an aberrant moment in time. But if we give Donald Trump eight years in the White House, he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation, who we are, and I cannot stand by and watch that happen."
Trump fired back with this:
"Welcome to the race Sleepy Joe. I only hope you have the intelligence, long in doubt, to wage a successful primary campaign.
It will be nasty - you will be dealing with people who truly have some very sick & demented ideas. But if you make it, I will see you at the Starting Gate!"
Food for thought.
