The Trump reality show

Completely aside from my antipathy for the man who used the presidency as an opportunity to spread division while enriching himself, I fervently hope this, and all media companies dedicated to disinformation, will fail. Somehow we must come back to a world of truth and facts.

I haven't been following this. Did he want to go there to participate, break some windows, or to try and clam the situation?

I almost wish they had let him (not really, but). Imagine him running around the breached Capitol pulling down curtains, pushing over chairs. A sitting president. I sometimes forget what a shitshow this guy brought to the White House. It is almost hilarious until you realize the all too real consequences.

I almost wish they’d let him go too, to have his moment leading his band of insurrectionist supporters. Then it would have been difficult for anyone to think he himself is not guilty.

Are there two Washington Post papers? I though the Washington Post is a broadsheet and libreal, so not a Trump supporter?

Confusing, I know.

The Washington Post and the New York Times are, indeed broadsheets dedicated to independent, factual reporting and not supporters of the twice-impeached disgraced ex-president.

The (Rupert Murdoch-owned) New York POST and the (Rev Sun Myung Moon’s Unification Church-owned) Washington TIMES are a different kettle of fish altogether.

So when even the right wing New York Post and Murdoch’s other paper, The Wall Street Journal, start to opine about trump in a negative way, this could be a sign that some of his faithful are starting to see through him.

However, many of his biggest followers do not read newspapers but get their news from right wing internet sources and Murdoch’s tv channel, FoxNews. This group largely still claims that the January 6, 2021 insurrection was just a normal day on Capitol Hill, with friendly tourists hugging the Capitol police.

Gosh - Daniel, are you saying you didn’t know that Rupert Murdoch owns FoxNews? Perhaps that has something to do with the fact that Fox is the only major media outlet that has kept the hearings of the January 6 Committee from their public by not airing them.

I hope you were able to see the hearings on C-Span or YouTube. They have featured very enlightening testimony, not by Trump’s adversaries but by republicans who worked for and with the former president.
