I am attaching a nice song by Carlos Gardel praising "The Blondes of New York". He performed this in the 1920's when the films of him were done in the USA, as we lacked the equipment.
It is an eulogy of the anglo saxon type of women, rare in Argentina but often found in the USA.
This would please Mr Larson, a distinguished member of this forum, and an expert in argentine tango music.

He was not just a compelling musician, but a showman as well. And las rubias seemed to be enjoying his company!

Gardel was the typical european who came to Argentina in the 1900's, from a french humble woman, and his name was Charles Romuald Gardes, born in Toulouse, France. It seems that he had the family name of his mother, as his father was unknown.
However, he studied until the high school in a Salesian college, and then was a singer in the choir of the church. Then he became gradually famous and well accepted by our high society.
His smile was charming, and he behaved as a gentleman. There was a legend when I was a boy that Gardel did not died in 1934 in Medellin, Colombia, in an aircraft accident. People said that he was still living, but his face was not the same because the wounds of the fire, but they also said that "every day he sings much better" (Cada dia canta mejor). It sounded true, as because the accident his face was ugly, and he used to be a real handsome man.
