The image looks like a 3D architectural model. In fact, sometimes architecture search images in other sources, far from the usual ones.
Surely that was later than 1984?
An all new PC build using components from the 90s era and ready for Windows 98's 20th anniversary.
This takes me right back as I built quite a few back in those days, when you had to boot to a floppy disc just to get Windows 98 installed. Check out that floppy whirring and chirping.

The first 1-2 seasons the fictional story reminded me a bit of the real story of great Pulitzer winner book by Tracy Kidder Soul of a new Machine (1982). If never read that the few pages of the prologue is the hook.
