I'm pleased to resurrect this thread as they may be small and insignificant to some people, but they're ground breaking to the locals.

Dead snake found dumped near Ledbury (UK)

Unfortunately for the sake, he didn't survive the cold weather and was probably dumped by someone who couldn't cope with it.

    Love the Local News thread.

The exhibit sounds interesting, but MAN, the Hereford Times needs to learn some basic rules of journalism. It takes 'way too long to figure out what they are talking about!

It is only a matter of time before my name is cleared, as well. Whilst others falsely blame me for commandeering that lifeboat, I know that my reasons were those of a gentleman.

    Quote from Splinter

Shopping trolley removed from Hereford brook

Quite a big day in Hereford, then.

Now, to get that trolley returned ... there’s still work to do.

Schoolchildren had to walk home after their bus broke down.

This shocking news comes to us from Hereford and you can read about it here:

Wasn’t all that long ago that they all walked, always.

But it’s good to know that there’s at least one place in the world peaceful enough that something like this is news. Hooray for Hereford!

As with many articles, the following comments held more interest than the original column. In this case, the second comment began with "This is not newsworthy," and went on to spiral in several directions, including, of course the predictable insults among commenters. Highly amusing.

We lived in Phoenix, Arizona for a short while, and always appreciated the beauty of the desert, while heeding the administration that everything living there either stings you or bites you.

Snakes were never far from our minds, though we were fortunate not to have this kind of memorable encounter:

I doubt that this would happen in Hereford.

The headlines would have read “First snake sighted in Hereford! Ever!”

Except for the occasional dead one dumped there. Oh - my fault. That would be Ledbury. Bringing this Local News thread full circle.

If this were Texas, that flooding would bring out the rattlesnakes. Lucky Hereford!

(This IS the Snake Thread, right?)
