Tomorrow the opening ceremony will take place at 6PM at the Obelisk. Two weeks of games will follow.

Free passes are out of stock, but the opening ceremony is open to all.

They call them YOG in English, but I have never seen the Spanish acronym.

For that matter, I just got an email inviting me to watch live the opening ceremony but I can't see anything being streamed, just a 'coming soon' static page. People on FB are complaining of bad organization and no clear instructions on where to go to watch the ceremony.

Yes, it worked last night live as well. They just started the ceremony very later than scheduled. It was scheduled at 6PM but since most effects had light, I think they just waited for the sun to be completely down. It was amazing, btw!

It's a great showcase for Argentina when the country needs it most and let's not forget the G20 conference next month, when many world leaders will be in town.

Talking of which, I wonder if Teresa May will appear. If she does, it will be the first time a British prime minister has set foot in Argentina since Tony WMD Blair.
