Just another chapter in the never-ending story about this country's economic woes.
Does anyone have a handle on the forces that drove the peso down so severely in 2 days ?
Earlier in the week, the rate was 31. Today it hit 40 after briefly reaching 42 yesterday???
Will Macri be able to maintain his tenuous hold on the reins?
I am hearing stories of Financial coup d'état from parties aligned to the Kirchner clan., trying to provoke Macri's resignation

That's precisely what the Ks accused the non Ks of doing during their tenure.

That could save Queen Cristina from trial, conviction and prison.
Macri won't resign because if he does, he knows chaos will ensue.
I also believe that CFK will have her immunity stripped and more than likely be put under house arrest.
The peso is junk, excrement and any other description you can come up with.

Though the will still keep the lower parity price for argentina?

To answer my own question, I see you did explain in your blog post. Regional pricing as Steam calls it in their news release. No doubt, Netflix and the other International services will follow.
Isn’t Netflix about US$3 here? In the US, we had an increase to $12 this past year, and they’ve already announced that the price is going up again next year.
I have US Netflix and I still find it worth the price, even if I watch it maybe 2-3 times per week for 30' (then I just fall asleep).
Today I exchanged at 930. Still a big display of AFIP and PFA downtown. Maybe Massa wants us to believe that is the dollar that is facing a crisis?

I do know it is cheap compared to USA. Though it is priced in pesos, with similar special regional pricing. It might show on your CC bill around U$D 3, but fluctuates depending on the FX rate that day. Like Steam, I assume Netflix will set a fixed price in U$D some time soon.
Hello everybody,
I've just got back after 6 weeks from thunderstorms in Misiones and the vines in the garden coming out..
to France ... thunderstorms and the leaves falling off my vine...
From Posadas to Salta I saw plenty of election posters.. but none for Milei...
I found this video interesting..
Cordialement,
Glad you’re safely home, Sarran1955 . I hope you enjoyed your explorations and time with your family.
Why in the world wouldn’t the Milei campaign have any outdoor advertising between Posadas and Salta? Did polling convince him he’d already lost the whole area?
That video was very instructive. I kept stopping it and re-watching parts that I’d missed because of the fast-talking Aussie delivery, and now I’m going to watch the whole thing again. Thanks!
Here's another one, so it seems that it's a global talking point.
These are the kind of videos that make those of us who love the country cry.
This one is also very good where the Australian journalist talks to a variety of Argentines.

I used to have some sympathy for them. Now I just shake my head and curse a lot.
UK Man , you talk a tough line, but I know in all your years here, you have more feeling for this country than you admit - -
As for the videos, the quiet desperation and resignation are so clear that I can’t help wondering if the country is just ripe for a dictator. The young people think that nothing could make things worse. But things can get even worse. I hope the alliance between Milei and Bullrich will produce a win for Milei, but with Bullrich’s people exercising enough control that he won’t attain the absolute power his role populist models sought in their countries.
