  • From Kim Komando today:

"Google always tracks your location even when you tell it not to. It's no secret that Google monitors and stores a lot of information about you, such as your location history. In other words, you have to be comfortable with Google knowing where you are if you want it to help without you asking. Google does provide tools and options to turn location tracking off, however, new findings indicate that Google still records your movements even when you tell it not to. Now, that's creepy."

  • Good point, meetdilip . We recently spent a month in the woods, with no internet. Because having a connection required driving into town, we relinquished the immediate internet access we usually rely upon. Although it was inconvenient and frustrating for the first two weeks, we eventually settled into appreciating the break from connectivity and the calming sense that comes from being closer to nature. The initial inconvenience turned into a trade off that was definitely a good one.

(So when we were mostly off the grid, did Google have our location?)
