British beer discovered in Caballito!

Following on from my Bangalore restaurant post, I searched in Mercadolibre and found a small almacen known as The Beer Emporium who sell a very nice range of British and other European beers. In fact, I'd already been to Caballito once today in order to collect some PC spare parts, so after lunch I zoomed back and bought a couple of tins of Old Speckled Hen, one of my favourites as it happens.

Your map directs me to a location in Sugar Land, Texas, located conveniently about 60 km south of my current location near Houston, Texas.

It is quite a ways from Caballito.

Something is quite iffy re attaching Google maps.

I can see the map just fine. I'll tell my husband.

The wine store close to where we live now was advertising 30% on cash purchase of beer, but we haven't yet checked the selection of brands on offer.

This appears to be a Google Maps problem and I'm looking into it.

Can you post an image of the map you see in Texas please Ed? Is that where you are by the way?

I’m having the same problem on my iPhone. Was quite surprised to see on the map a Rite Aid pharmacy, Aldi and Whole Foods. Then realized none of the streets had Spanish names.

Discovered more imported beer, Speckled Hen and Abbot, amongst others at Carrefour, Acassususo and I've just learned that there's another beer specialist in Martinez, which I'll be checking out tomorrow.

Beer also discovered in Martinez at The Beer Market which apparently has been around for about three years, with branches in San Isidro and Beccar.

It's a bit pricey, but manageable if you don't go crazy and the selection is pretty good.

Not surprising with inflation the way it is mate.

There are prices in the photos though.

Oh, Coto (the worst supermarket in the world) has Jameson at $660, which is 30% off today.

To be honest, I published a promotional price on Italian classes, once, hoping I would get swarmed with requests and be able to make a group where a lot of participants paid very little.

Instead I got a family and since the father was paying for everybody, not only I had to honor the advertised price, but I also gave a discount since they asked for it. Four months later, I am still working at the same low fee and I can't wait for the group to be over.

Now I see why people do not publish prices on the Internet, here!

It's like shifting sands.

A few years ago our pizzas used to come with a leaflet with prices on. Now the leaflet has all the prices blacked out with felt tip pen.

Shifting sands. Good analogy. We are seeing stores that simply don’t post prices, to keep them from having to change them next week or next month. I HATE having to ask prices of everything.

Today in a craft beer store on Araoz, called Brooklyn. If you enlarge the image you can read the price. They also had a selection of fine whiskies in the other window.
