If I'm being honest I can live quite happily without overpriced British beer...or German, Belgium, French, Spanish for that matter. I think certain Argentine brewed beer is every bit as good. Says me who used to drink pints of Tartan Special.
However if anyone can tell me where I can get Heinz Baked Beans, Typhoo tea and Condor pipe tobacco I'd really be over the moon.

Name me an Argentine beer that comes close to say Wadworth 6X, Bass or Old Speckled Hen and I'd be first in the queue mate!
We have Heinz Baked Beans, Typhoo Tea, Colmans Mustard, Birds Custard and some Golden Virginia if you fancy popping over for a cup of tea.

£1 a can is okay.
Seems to be a new beer shop about to open here so I shall have to pay it a visit to see what they have. Most foreign beer available here in the supermarkets is German/Dutch/Danish amd they charge a ruddy fortune for it.

I was paying $180 for the same beer in Caballito, so this is a bargain.

On your behalf, we went to a just-opened Beer Market in Palermo Soho, hoping to score some Old Speckled Hen, but no British beer.
As you said, UK Man, all Danish or German. Should make your heart sing, @JAN !
They did have magnums of Grolsch for $750. Is that bottled here? I DO love those bottles. -
-
The grolsch are just like the other Stella, Heineken, Amstel etc not one bit imported......all from here....!!!!
Splinter when u refer to English beer, u say that because it's served warm? Hahaha!
Rice in carrefour by me they have loooooads of import beer, great ones...... problem is the price tag!!!!! Can't spend 200-400 on a 330 cc bottle.....
Gonna b funny to c how those shops do in the future when the imports get blocked or taxed ridiculous high.....even higher than now.
Reminds me of getting more jaegermeister........is 1000 pesos in coto, 12 euros.....same as Germany.......years back it was like 50 euros or more!!!!
Guess we also need to stock up on whiskey.....

@JAN Served chilled as opposed to ice cold, like most lagers. This ensures the flavour which is rich and malty.
Greene King - Abbot Ale
Style: English Pale Ale
ABV: 6.5%
Origin: Suffolk, England
Abbot ale is brewed in Bury St. Edmunds – A place which enjoys a rich brewing heritage that can be traced back nearly 1,000 years.
The famous Domesday Book includes a passage about 'cerevisiarii' or ale brewers as servants of the Abbot in Bury St Edmunds' Great Abbey. The Greene King brewery sits alongside the historic ruins of the Abbey and to this day our brewers still draw water from the same chalk wells used by their brewing predecessors all those years ago.
Hailed by the late beer writer Michael Jackson as "one of the great characters of the beer world," Abbot Ale is brewed for quality of the highest order. Abbot is an irresistible ale with masses of fruit characters, a malty richness and superb hop balance. It is brewed longer to a unique recipe, which makes it the full-flavoured, smooth and mature beer it is today.
This distinctive full bodied, smooth and mature beer is bursting with fruit cake and toffee flavours. Bottles are available throughout the year however cask beer is only brewed during November and December. -

Splinter .....don't post stuff like this please.......
Just talking about beer makes me thirsty..... adding a picture, makes me walk to the fridge!!!!!
Another of my small projects: get a nice beer fridge with glass door.......same as a normal fridge, just with glass on front....
Imagine one like that in your living, filled up with all the great beers from around the world.
What beer I really adore to sip on slow, and not hammer down like a drunken sailor: Leffe triple from Belgium......ahhhhh.....they got it in carrefour, but it's some 250 or 300!!!!
Another problem with import beer: many times its spoiled through the changes in temperature......the heat especially. Many many times I have opened a great import beer and got terrible disappointed......
Last couple of years I have really focused on local beers, do many on the market in larger supermarkets......last week got 4x2 on Rabieta, and 4x2 on penon de aguiela,
Both from here, carrefour n coto......ended up costing 70 per can.....
I think we need a beer thread.....

I have a feeling my supply of Abbott is going to dry up, so buy now while stocks last!
Especially for @JAN

Its OK - good selection of draught beer, Food is only average though.
