    I suppose the current government could be described as right of centre after 12 years of a leftist, populist and isolationist administration.

    The opposition has a majority in both congress and the lower house which makes life tough for the current government, but because of the fallout from the elections in 2015, the Peronists (for want of a better description for the collective splinter groups) find themselves unable to rally around a central leading figure at the moment, particularly as ex-president Cristina Kirchner has been charged with so many crimes of corruption, not to mention her alleged involvement in the murder of a government prosecutor Alberto Nisman who was about to declare (against Cristina Kirchner) before a government committee the day before his body was found in a suicide murder cover up.
