I was reading this articleon La Nación and I came across womxn for the first time.
What does it mean? both men and women? I don't understand where this stand linguistically... it is not like that changing the x one would either get the male or female noun...
The word is repeated twice, so it was no typo. Any idea, anyone?

Seems like an attempt to use inclusive language... the X is uses frequently in American Spanish, but mostly be heritage speakers. In LatAm Spanish (particularly Argentina) the use of the -e in place of the -a or -o in nouns that are gendered (i.e diputade instead of diputata or diputado). The RAE seems undecided on the matter, not that it matters that much in LatAm.
I's not really something that will catch on and is only really used by greasy politicians to garner favour with millennials and others who may feel excluded.

I think that is their so called polite way of saying.....transgender women....I can't imagine the politically correct saying anything of transgender men i.e. mxn. Man, no pun intended, what a fucked up world we live in these days

But they HAVE given us all the previously inconceivable kittenself, for references to Serafina and Floyd.
Ever so much shorter and easier to say than “she” or “he,” right?

I know someone who failed their university dissertation presentation recently because they did a study on teenagers and did not use inclusive language. I don't know if they can re-do it or whether that's five years of study down the toilet. I also don't know the extent of the language, whether it was offensive or not. Still, I found it very concerning because the universities are really becoming a one-sided thing. Anyone without a far left tilt (I mean batshit crazy side of the left) will increasingly be shut out.

I’m afraid that, until someone convinces me that gender neutrality trumps grammar, I remain among the luddites who continue to prefer he/his/him and she/hers/her. So I would fail the dissertation defense at that university. (Which one was it?)
Batshit crazy is the only way to describe this.
