The closure of Aeroparque until the end of the year , mentioned here a few weeks ago, has now been officially confirmed.

i believe there was an announcement tonight saying the flights due to start on 1st sept is not happening. My spanish is not good enough to fully understand what the plans are.
I believe certain flights will be allowed for business and health reasons.
Are there any flights leaving Argentina or is everything stopped for 60 to 180 days or until a vaccine is found which is plain crazy .

This is so depressing. Why should anyone think there is anything magic about the next two months? When the flight shutdown was announced in April, the coronavirus was just starting to speak; now it is starting to roar.

There is still nothing official
Civil Aviation are trying to force the Health Ministry to call all flights off .

My Spanish isn't great either....so I rarely bother reading stuff like this. Helps to keep the blood pressure down to be honest.

Why would they? I'd thought it was the opposite!

Given all the quarantine rules in force at both ends you'd have to be mad or have a desperate need to fly anywhere at the moment.

As serafina said, surely it's the other way around.

Sanity would be a good reason. If I hadn't a cat and I had another home waiting for me somewhere safer, with a better health care system, and a reasonable government, I would fly away.

The guys at Civil Aviation dont want to be the purveyors of bad news.....
In any case it should be a Health matter
This will go on for a few days .

If once you arrive at your destination you have to self quarantine for a couple of weeks I'd rather not bother going.

You can get tested and skip it.

Where do you get tested?
A friend who got back to Germany for the holidays, got tested in Germany.
A friend who should be moving to Spain at the beginning of September, booked her covid-19 antibody test at Rossi labs for 3,000 ARS. Spain requires her to present a medical certificate, and she thought this is what they meant. The PCR test is 7,000 ARS.

I can assure you that times like this in Argentina are desperate.
Does that mean you’re looking to leave for good?
Aside from bailing on Argentina entirely, I am with UK Man and think it’s just too much hassle flying out for a holiday. Worry about quarantining yourself, or getting tested, go through what I imagine is plenty of nonsense at the airport and on the plane, and probably pay well over the odds for the flight.
Then, when you get to your destination you probably won’t be allowed to do much, like going out or gathering with family, anyway. Oh yeah, you may also find yourself unable to return or if you can not without quarantine.

Any further information on flights ......BA still saying my flight is confirmed for the 2nd...As is Aerolineas for my BS to Rio Gallegos...Quarantine extended until end of August and this statement of flights starting withinn 60 days leaves everything open to interpretation....
Why not just come out officially and say no flights until X date..I will literally need to wait until day before and see if i can check in ...then even if that goes then i guarantee the Bs to Rio Gallegos wont.....leaving me stranded in Bs....

I really wish we could help, but all we seem to get are vague signals from the government.
